from what ive heard, the next Batman movie is rumoured to have the Riddler as the villain. If thats the case i really believe that Johnny Depp would do the charachter justice. but what if the Mad Hatter was to be batmans next onscreen foe. If nolan makes that choice(which i really hope he does) i would love to see Jeremy Davies play the pedophilic villain. his scruffy skinny look might seem a bit different at first but would definitly provide the audience with that creepy child obsessed freaky vibe.
any ideas or comments?

I'd like the Ventriloquist, with Teller portraying him, since he makes a living off of expressing himself from talking through objects. As far as Mad Hatter is concerned, I think with the right costume and make-up Mike Myers might fit him well, among others.

I SO don't want to see Jim Carey back. If any actor to pick it would be Depp. He is an AMAZING actor. I think one of the best. As far as villains go I would like to see how Nolan would portray Bane. And the Ventriloquist would fit well in Nolan's version of Gotham.

well, depp is playing the hatter in tim burton's new adaption of Alice in Wonderland so that rules him out i guess. i heard rumors of Steve Buseni and as for your suggestion maninagarge Jeremy Davies, um ah ea um, NO!!!!! but what i'm thinking is, um ok, did any of you see the Presige? Directed by Nolan and staring Bale and Caine but think... who else was in it and theres your next riddler, David Bowie.

I think that they should have a partnership between the Riddler, and the mad hatter. It would be better then The Riddler and TF as was tried in BF.
Mad Hatter would be great. I doubt he'd carry the spotlight with as much challenge and explosion as some others, but I would love to see them use him. As for the actor, I'd personally love to see a Gene Wilder comeback; playing him as mentioned before as a pedophilic kidnapper and criminal deviant. Jeremy Davies is an intriguing option also though. And, he'd probably be the more likely candidate considering his fresh Lost career boost and modest price tag when compared to Hollywood staples like Depp and Wilder. If not them, however, I'd hope Peter Macnicol (Janosz from Ghostbusters 2) was at least discussed for the role. Very underrated actor.
Davies would be fun to watch though. It got me thinking that Hatter could not only be a pedophile and kidnapper, but be extremely conflicted with it, treating it like a reluctant addiction with which he's ashamed of himself but ultimately cannot help it. And, if Riddler were the main baddie, he could, of course, manipulate the miserable bastard.

Mad Hatter right???
Andy Dick.
Andy Dick actually has a very underrated dramatic muscle. I wouldn't be against him.

if I had to pick an actor to play either mad hatter or the ventriloquist I would pick Peter MacNicol from numbers,he did provide the voice of proffessor kirk langstrom(the manbat) in the animated batman but he has the look for both mad hatter or ventriloquist.
MacNicol's in Numb3rs? Good for him! I was hoping 24 wouldn't be the last time we saw him. MacNicol for Hatter! (or Ventriloquist!)
P.S. That Jeremy Davies notion has haunted me since I read it. Even if he never plays a prominent villain, I think I'd be excited to see him still cast in a Nolan Batman film in some capacity.
