Hello Batman fans. I am a big Star Trek fan, however I was wanting to get into watching Batman seriously... y'know like a hardcore guy.
I'm hardcore 'bout ST but I was watching the 1989 film of Batman last night and thought it was pretty osome. I used to watch reruns of that REALLY OLD tv show when I was, like, 5 or somfin'. I thought that was pretty cool too. And I have read some of the DC Batman comics and enjoyed them thoroughly. So how do you guys suggest I proceed.... I don't remember much of the series or the comics so I've only really seen Batman (1989). What should I start with to get addicted? 'Coz thats my aim....

Everyone's different and Batman can have a bunch of different angles to approach from, so it's hard to say.
If you like comics, I suggest reading some perhaps starting with Knightfall, Long Halloween, Batman Year One, and Hush. Over the decades, his stories have been told out of order with time, so you can begin with pretty much anything. If you just like watching, then I suggest the TV show for a laugh and a cheesy good time. The Tim Burton movies Batman and Batman Returns are cool for what they are and have some great performances, but could confuse you since there are buckets of flaws that strongly contradict the original characters. Burton and Schumacher's Batman Forever has a great cast, music, and action, but the same symptoms apply from its predecessors. Batman & Robin is a missable below average flop. Actually, Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight really are a fantastic do-over for the franchise and you can do far worse than to start with that, read some comics, and play Batman Arkham Asylum (if you don't mind the addiction).
