Sorry to necro this thread. But it's not a Colt it's definitely a Smith & Wesson. Schofield or something similar.

If you look on page 81 of the Batman Official Movie Book by John Marriott you can see that it's not a Schofield...
It's actually Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 with a 20+ inch barrel. It's only got black synthetic grips instead of the wooden handle. It's actually the same kind of gun that Shreck uses to shoot Catwoman repeatedly with in Batman Returns. Last edited by KeatonisBatman; 03-19-2011 at 09:08 AM. |

I'm not a gun nut, so I don't know what it was, refer to the first reply, but I love the comical effect of the scene, Jack Nicholson is amazing as The Joker.

"The gun is a modified Colt Revolver, with a very very long barrel, the gun would not have been able to shoot down the plane, as the barrel would increase accuracy of the shot, but also slow the bullet down due to the increase in friction."
Interesting. I remember watching this in the movie at age 13 and wondering if the gun would actually be able to fire, and if the long barrel would make it powerful enough to knock out a small, low-flying plane's engine. 22 years later I get the answer, lol. |
