I don't see the ridler as too much of a threat. What's so vilinous of him?
Now I've never read the comics bu judging from the movie he's not that evil! Am I missing something? |

Riddler is an otherwise physically unintimidating man, but deceptively feisty, so to speak. In other words, compared to Batman, he'd get pummeled in a fair fight; against your average person, he might surprise them and kill them outright. The Riddler inserts into Batman's world his most profound challenges as far as mystery and detection are concerned. If this sounds like it could get boring watching Batman "solve a mystery" for two hours, think of it this way, Riddler has been known to manipulate and cohort with others to fill out his agendas with those who possess the skills he lacks. For example, he may not be a marksman shooter, but he can easily con Deadshot into assassinating somebody or Zsasz and Firefly into mass murder. Riddler might not carry much muscle or a black belt, but he could easily twist Grundy and Killer Croc to fight anyone to the death. He may not be a politician, but he could plot to turn mayors, DA's, and the police into cornerstones for his agenda. He's kinda like meeting half way between Ra's al Ghul and The Joker; then triple the brilliance.
