I think null has a point with rachels death or possible death showing the consequencies that batman/bruce wayne has to endure, but if she isn't dead and comes back as say harley quinn,it would be harder for batman/bruce wayne to know that he has to fight her and bring her to justice all the while knowing he is the cause of how she is. sofaking before u post anymore on this forum go and actually watch a batman movie and read a history of batman or atleast a batman comic then come back with something good and constructive to say, hell when did jim carey or robert de niro play the joker(for those who think I have gone nuts and now know nothing about batman please go read sofakings post called how many jokers in the other batman chat section)

Theres always too many jokers. I mean theres Jim Karey and theres allso robirt deneaor too. And theres also jack from the shiny who is the joker. I mean Maybe steven kings likes him but it isn;t enough for him to actual be the one who is in batman as the jokaer though. He isn't even as funny. Nobody actual knows who shoukd even play him but i could probably do it better than evn thoughs guys. Regless I hope to see a REAL acter probably play them. I would suggest Tim Allen or neil flynn.
Bravo. lol

You're a real enigma. I don't know if you're sofa king, so f*king, or so faking.

As i watched Dark Knight and based on the past batman movies,Rachel and Dent were dead but there's always a twist in the story. They might be possibly both alive or one of them.

Yeah, kkaos is leading the "Both" camp. I'm with the "Dent" camp.

Default I want tf alive

I want Two-face to be alive, theyve killed of a major too soon. But its a definite death, as for rachel i agree with null on the fact that if she is alive it takes away some of the heroism of Bruce. Although, i also agree that if she was alive and the joker done to her what he did to harvey it would be a struggle for bruce to fight her. But all in all shes better off dead. (Why would she be Harley Quinn? Wouldnt make sense for her to ally with the joker when he blew up her lover? But then again, nloans changed the characters alot so even if she is Harley she might not necessarily ally with the Joker).

THis is exactly my thought, But even if he was dead it wouldn't necessarily rule him out of the movie. I posted in another thread, theres flashbacks and etc, lots of stuff he could have done when not on scene in tdk.

Dent is dead. I don't think there's much doubt about that, plus he's not really a character that they HAVE to bring back like The Joker is. It is, however, entirely plausible that Rachael is alive--they did NOT show her body, so that could be, and would make for a lovely little plot twist in the next film, especially considering the betrayal of Batman she committed with that note she wrote that he never saw because Fox burned it...

Alfred burned the note.

Dent/TFace is almost as much a Batman staple as Joker. Dismissing him as unnecessary isn't very consistent with the claim that Joker must return.

Nolan refuses to revive Joker after Ledger died.

One good reason we weren't "shown Rachel's body" could be because her remains were indistinguishable from the rubble of the explosion.

During the making of TDK, Nolan told Eckhart he definitely wouldn't be bringing back TFace at all. But, that was before Ledger died. Some of us hold out hope that he might change his mind.

The best thing Nolan might do is to keep Joker's legend alive somehow without bringing him back; i.e. an off-hand remark about Joker's behavior at Arkham Asylum. Finding a way to move on from TDK might prove delicate and difficult to execute masterfully at this juncture, but if he can do it, I imagine it's with a whole new danger. As obvious as it may seem on the surface, Riddler may be Nolan's only logical choice.

Consider the overwhelming wave of negativity that could quite possibly follow if Nolan replaced Ledger as Joker. At best, it's a highly illogical risk to take. At worst, foolish.
