The Batmobile Thread, Only Better.

At this stage we all know that the tumbler gets bl*wn up (didn't want to ruin it for anyone...)

So what are we looking at with regards to a replacement? As it stands, the rumors are that the Bat Pod (hereinafter "the Pod") pops out of the Tumblers like a veritable ping pong ball from a Vietnamese Hooker.

Looking at certain pics of the tumbler (they're in one of these threads but I can't seem to find them at the mo...) there are what look like pneumatic/hydraulic struts at the sides of the tumbler connected to where batman shoots his weapons from, we'll call it the weapons launch bay (hereinafter the "wlb"). These struts on the wlb, in the middle of the tumbler aren't attached to the wheels. Furthermore, if you look at close ups at the front of the tumbler, there are notches where the wheel bearings are that would allow the tumbler's wheers to turn 90 degrees opposite lock.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the front wheels of the tumbler are *coincidentally* similar to those of the pod... I have a feeling that the wlb and the front wheels pop out like the aforementioned ping pong ball, and that the whole structure somehow folds into the pod... Like this perhaps?

I can't get my head around how this would work practically, but it's what seems to make the most sense. Each wheel of the pod is only connected at one side....


This brings me on to the second part of this thread....

Nolan is a smart guy, he made Memento, you needed to be a smart guy to make Memento. Therefore, he's going to replace the tumbler. Smart guys have this self preservation thing that way.

What will he replace it with? I sincerely doubt that we'll have the pod for the duration of the third film? Now I love the tumbler, I always was a big big fan, but the 89 batmobile was the sexiest thing ever made by man that didn't involve sperm. I would love to see a sportier batmobile... Will we get it, or will we get another tumbler???

I would love to see an updated version of the Batwing! Imagine it, with the Tumbler and Bat-Pod looking so good, their version of the Batwing should be awesome!!!

it all depends on the story which vehicle batman will have in the next movie, if they continue the batman on the run from the cops then the pod could provide some great stunts, if batman is back onside with the cops then a new bat mobile or a plane could be good, but remember gotham is surrounded by water so a bat boat is a possibility.

This would be a good way for batman to reduce his carbon foot print. Only joking i think a batvan would be good, being able to with stand more demage then the batmobile, but a little slower and less agile. And mabye being able to carry things like the batboat or the batcopter (batwing).

I would love them to bring back the 89. I don't think anyone can come up with a better looking vehicle for Batman.
