Default Batman '89 kind of sucks...
Because they didn't leave an opening for a sequel that's why Batman Returns pales in comparison to the original Batman.

Not sure if I agree. I think it was just going to be a once-off according to Burton.
I think he wanted it all wrapped up in one.
